Tony Powell undertakes bird surveys for us as part of an Estate 10-year Conservation Plan that we have prepared. As land managers we all need to take a long term view and set goals for improving habitats for our target species. The 10 year plan has been an effective tool for doing this, in addition to the ELS/HLS and CSS schemes. Annual surveys give us the data we need to monitor effectiveness of the measures being taken, and allow us to adjust what we do to make improvements where necessary. The future looks bright. Such a rewarding project for all involved.
